The Reason For The Season

As we approach the holiday season, a melange of emotions fill our hearts. Joy, the joy of being gathered with family. Grief for those who are no longer with us to celebrate. Anxiety over one’s ability to provide gifts. Even resentment of those that we do not get along with. Yes, the holidays bring out the best and sometimes the worse.

Since ancient times, yule time has been celebrated to commemorate the beginning of a new solar year. The birth of a son to mankind is rejoiced and new resolutions are contrived for the following year. A toast with loved ones to the better days that lie ahead and to those we have lost in the past. These are days to be cherished.

As we enjoy the festivities, know that the holiday season represents change. As the Earth goes through its annual change, so should we.
